About

Long-time labor lawyers Lewis N. Levy and Ralph M. Phillips have teamed up to form Levy Phillips APC a law firm devoted exclusively to the representation of labor unions, labor-management trust funds, and working people.

This is a time of profound change for the labor movement. Over the past 30 years, the globalization of the economy and advent of new technologies have reshaped the American workforce, presenting new challenges as well as opportunities. Unions, meanwhile, have faced a relentless assault from an array of anti-labor forces, spurring them to redouble their fight for fairness and justice in the workplace. Levy and Phillips have been there through it all, helping unions achieve hard-won victories and protecting the rights of workers at every turn.

The legacy, originating more than 50 years ago with Lewis’ father, Abe Levy, continues at Levy Phillips APC. Combining more than 60 years of experience, Levy Phillips APC offers a steady hand and experienced guidance in a rapidly changing legal and policy landscape. The firm provides its clients with legal assistance on all labor law issues, including contract negotiation and enforcement, grievance processing and arbitration, unfair labor practices, organizing strategy, trust fund administration, and internal union matters.

Most recently, the firm has offered its unique expertise in employment matters to select individual workers in wage and hour suits under the California Labor Code and the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, in discrimination/harassment suits under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, and in suits for wrongful termination.
