Daniel R. Barth, Partner

Daniel Barth

Daniel R. Barth is partner in Levy Phillips APC. He is licensed to practice law in California State and Federal Courts, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Barth entered the legal profession in 2010 driven by a desire to protect the rights of workers. He spent the first five years of his career at Levy, Ford & Wallach representing labor unions and individual employees. In November 2015, Barth joined Levy Phillips, where he has continued to do this work.

Barth has represented labor organizations and employees in federal and state court actions, arbitrations, and administrative law proceedings. His expertise includes matters arising under the National Labor Relations Act, California’s Public Employment Relations statutes, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family Medical Leave Act. Over the course of his career, Barth has obtained substantial awards and settlements for employees who have been wrongfully discharged, disciplined and harassed in the workplace.

A fervent believer that workers who know their rights are better advocates than even the most capable attorneys, Barth teaches classes on labor and employment law at Los Angeles Trade Technical College. Topics of focus include union organizing and advocacy, wage and hour law, employment discrimination, and sexual harassment.

Barth earned his Bachelor of Arts from UCLA in 2005, and obtained a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Columbia University in 2007. Barth received his Juris Doctorate in 2010 from UCLA, where he served as a Managing Editor of the UCLA Law Review.
